Why Is My Dog Not Eating Her Food Right When I Put It Down?
Written by K.C. Jones on September 14, 2009 – 7:38 am -Most people have no idea how stressful it can be to have a dog that won’t eat. To quickly get your dog eating again, you must first determine whether the problem of your dog not eating is physical or psychological. Before diving into this problem, if you have a dog with a medical condition, or a puppy, pregnant dog, or nursing dog, you need to take them to the vet immediately. These dogs have certain nutritional requirements that are better if dealt with professionally. If this is a sudden eating problem, check to see if you have changed any of your dog’s food or routines, as this can be the problem. If you haven’t changed anything, make sure your dog isn’t in pain and isn’t acting like he is really tired (listless)... more

Optimal Health For Horses
Written by Arnold L. Polo on July 31, 2009 – 2:43 am -by Arnold L. Polo It is essential for a horse owner to know how to properly feed the horse to achieve optimal health. Horses and ponies are animals that graze off the land and so they need to be fed forage feed. This provides the horse the type of food that will help the digestive system to function properly. A horse or pony will need to consume about two percent of their body weight in feed each day. This will depend on their activity level and their age. At least half of the horse’s feed should be forage feed. Feeding the horse all forage feed would be the healthiest option. The owner should research the best forage feed for the horse and use only high quality forage feed. The type of feed and necessary supplements will depend on... more

Written by Virginina Sutherland on March 26, 2009 – 4:25 pm -by Virginina Sutherland Finding a nutritious healthy food for your cat is not as easy as it seems. Looking at the beautifully designed bags filled with kibble, along with the enticing text using words such as “wholesome” “nutritious” and “Veterinary Recommended” it can be easy to be put at ease, especially after reading that the very first ingredient is meat! Unfortunately there are a number of ingredients in cat food that not only do not belong there, they can be detrimental to your cat. The multibillion pet food companies spend both time and effort making people believe that grains are healthy and wholesome in order to sell their food. Written by Elliott Concagh on January 26, 2009 – 2:39 pm -by Elliott Concagh When the film “Marley and Me” opened on Christmas Day, 2008, its U.S. ticket sales exceeded $100,000,000 in four days. What about this film hit a nerve with American audiences? I can tell you this: at film’s end, my wife and I both cried our eyes out shamelessly. Why? Because love our dog. And judging by the tears in the packed theater, a whole bunch of people love their dogs. Now, what does this have to do with bad dog food? OK — I’m getting to that. Just because we can’t spend as much on food for our pets as we do for our family, it doesn’t mean we should give our four legged friends bad dog food. Those that use a can opener to feed their dog, or rip open a 20 lb bag,... more

Recent headlines have shouted out the fact thousands of dogs have become sick or died because of poison dog food. Do you know what’s in your dog food? Have you tried to read the ingredients lately? Did you understand the label? Most commercial dog foods contain “meat meal.” Do you have any idea what meat meal is? Meat meal, or its equivalent, is a stew of dead cats and dogs that have been euthanized. It’s true. Animal shelters provide rendering plants with their dead animals.
